Frederick "Uncle Sam" Adamski, 83 of Carlinville, IL formerly of Port Orange, FL. Passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was born April 15, 1934 in Throop, PA, a son of William and Martha (Skonietzki) Adamski, Sr.

He graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, IL, and served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 in Germany. Fred retired from the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture where he worked as a meat inspector. He enjoyed writing, golf, travel and portraying "Uncle Sam" in local community events but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife Mary Ann Adamski of Carlinville, IL, daughters, Tracy Lynn of Springfield, IL and Lisa (Tom) Mancini of Matthews, NC, sons, Kevin (Lee) Ralph of Decatur, IL, Todd Wright of Wills Point, TX, and David (Shannon) Wright of Gillespie, IL, nine grandchildren, Michael (Tia) Carter, Natalie (Michael) McKee, Ryan (Jessica) Ralph, Jeremy Mancini, Noah Wright, Colton Flournoy, Macie, Isabel and Alexander Wright, one great grandson, John Meadows, brothers, William Adamski of Springfield, IL and Donald (Evelyn) Adamski of Chatham, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death were his parents, and a sister-in-law Georgia Adamski.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home Girard, IL.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Girard Cemetery, Girard, IL. Rev. John Huxtable officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Girard Fire and Rescue Dept. or Virden American Legion.
