He is the second son of Cecil Hugh and Mary Edna (Sevedge); who preceded him in death; also his 3 brothers, Hugh Edward, James Kenneth, and Arvin Earl. His youngest daughter, Kelley Janine (Rhodes) McMurtrey also preceded him.
Surviving is his daughter, Debra Jo (Rhodes) Green; her 3 sons, Benjamin (Stephany), Brody, and Aaron (Angel); 2 daughters, Katie and Janella and son, Luke; Timothy (Elizabeth); 1 daughter, Genevieve; and 1 son, Ethan.
Kelley had 3 sons, Gregory (Christine); a daughter, Allieanah; Ryan (Natalie); daughter, Charlotte, and son, Grayson and her youngest son Kyle.
He worked for Indianapolis Power and Light for 10 years prior into the Missions Field. He was a missionary for 40 years in Haiti, then started a mission on the Amazon in Brazil, and American Samoa. Once he retired, he worked for the North Carolina school system for 15 years.
He was a graduate of Ben Davis High School. He was in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany. He received the Occupational Medal: National Defense Service Medal.
He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. A sister-in-law, Judy Cride Rhodes, a great-aunt Ruth Foley Sevedge and 2 cousins, Ruthanne Sevedge Bussy (Gerald) and Sue Sevedge Underwood (Don).
The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Interurban Depot, 401 S. Vine Street, Plainfield, IN 46168.
