MARY MARIAH GENTRY HENSON, 95, of Dixon died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at Balance Care Center in Dixon. She was born Oct. 9, 1903, in Miller County to Ira and Julia Barnhart Johnson. She was first married to Perry "Chick" Gentry, who died in 1929. In 1954, she was married to William Henson, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Henson was a member of Humphreys Creek Christian Church near Capps and St. Elizabeth. Surviving Mrs. Henson are a daughter, Mary Jane Silveus of Decatur, 111.; a sister, Bertha Keithley of Decatur, 111.; four brothers, Amos Johnson of Granite City, 111., Floyd Johnson of St. Elizabeth, Fred Johnson of McDonald, Tenn., and Harley Johnson of Dixon; nine grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
