Mary J. Shine, age 80, of Fox River Grove, passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, September 6, 2014, in Woodstock. She was born, March 20, 1934, in Bordulac, North Dakota, the daughter of August and Martha Sabinash.
Mary is survived by three children: Marianne (Mike) Tackett, Michelle (Dave) Allison and Michael Shine; her grandchildren: Heather, Gina, Cory, Cody, Chris, Katie, Lacey, Brandon, Jarrett and David; her great Grandchildren, Teagan, Connor any Zoey; she is also survived by her siblings: Raymond Sabinash, Catherine Guskiewicz, Margaret Nash, Jeanne Chupich, Lorre Chiodo; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sons, John Shine and Joe Shine; a grandson, Michael Shine; her sisters, Frances Sabinash, Ann Tully and Dorothy Stavnaw; and her brothers, Richard Sabinash, Ralph Sabinash and Dennis Sabinash.
Mary was born in North Dakota and soon moved to Chicago and on to Fox River Grove where she started raising five children as a professional chef. The love of the outdoors and the love of her family always kept a smile on her face.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 2:00 pm and concluding with a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd., Cary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Mary Shine Memorial Fund.
