Richard Eugene Sabinash, 73, Woodworth, ND, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Richard was born September 21, 1939 near Kensal, ND, the son of Augustus and Martha (Romelfanger) Sabinash. He received his education in Kensal and Bordulac schools.

Richard entered the US Army in 1957 and was stationed in Germany where he met his future bride, Erika. They were married April 5, 1960 in Amberg, Germany.

Upon his honorable discharge on October 12, 1962 they returned to the Woodworth, North Dakota area. They moved to the Bordulac area for a while where Richard worked for Russell Zink. In 1969 they returned to Woodworth where he dairy farmed and ranched, and where they raised their family and have lived since.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Pingree, ND, the Knights of Columbus in Carrington, ND, and the Rice-Deede American Legion Post.

Richard is survived by his wife, Erika, Woodworth; two daughters, Sylvia (Mike) Grondahl and Sonya (Leon) Hochhalter, both of Jamestown; two sons, Alan (Cindy) Sabinash, Jamestown and Todd (Mary) Sabinash, Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Joyce) Sabinash, Kensal; and seven sisters, Catherine Guszkiewicz, Chicago, IL, Ann Tully, Silver Lake, WI, Dorothy Stavnaw, Minneapolis, MN, Mary Shine, Chicago, IL, Margaret Sabinash, Kenosha, WI, Jeanne Chupich and Lorre Chiodo, both of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Dennis and one sister, Francis.
