Born January 24, 1944 in Mexico, Missouri, he was the son of Wilma C. Moore of South Kingstown and the late George E. Moore Jr.
He practiced as a family dentist in Wakefield for 35 years, retiring in 2006. Following retirement, he and his wife spent eight winters in The Villages, Florida. He attended the Ohio State University and Ohio State University Dental School, graduating in 1969. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Fort Benning, Georgia. He coached his children’s soccer and baseball teams, and attended most of their sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, fly tying and golf.
He is survived by his twin children, son George Emerson Moore IV and his wife Jennifer Van Ness Moore of Las Vegas, Nevada and daughter Dawn A. Moore Huff and her husband Chris G. Huff of East Greenwich; two grandchildren, Aidan and Lauren Huff; his brother, Craig G. Moore and his wife Holly of South Kingstown; and his sister, Dana Shearer and her husband Gerald of Anchorage, Alaska.
A memorial service was held Sunday, October 26 at Kingston Congregational Church, 2610 Kingstown Road, Kingston, with a reception following. Burial was private.
