David is a son of David Egan and Elizabeth Easton - their second child of nine.

The family moved to Utah shortly after his birth and he grew up in Salt Lake City. David worked as a milk salesman for Clover Leaf-Harris Dairy.

He died at age 20 of pneumonia brought on by influenza.
