Robstown---Merle Marie Wise Putnam, 74, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Robstown, to the late Ernest Everett Wise and Elsie Hercek Wise. She was retired from Riverside Hospital and a member of First United Methodist Church of Robstown.

Survivors: husband, Billy Doyle Putman; sons, Alan Dale Putman of Rockport and Randy Warren Putman of Houston; sisters Jean Parker of Robstown and Dorothy Wilson of Ingleside; brothers, Roy Wise of Austwell, Glen Wise of Port Lavaca, Clyde Wise of Ingleside and Harvey Wise of Tivoli; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m., with family present 5-7 p.m. tonight at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, the Rev. Betty Tuttle officiating. Burial will be at Robstown Cemetery.
