Warren Shed Seed, aged 62, dropped dead at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon on his farm in Eliza township. Definite cause of death is unknown, but according to the verdict of the coroner's inquest it was presumably due to heart trouble.
The only witness to the death was James K. Terry, who resides with Reed, the two keeping bachelor quarters on the farm. The men returned from the cornfield shortly before 3 o'clock with a load of corn. Terry went into the house to prepare something to eat, while Reed started to unload the corn into the crib.
Hearing a noise, Terry went out on the porch just in time to see Reed fall from the wagon. Running to the spot, he found Reed unconscious and thought he had fainted. He returned to the house for some water, but when he returned he saw that the man was dead.

Warren S., better known as "Mose," eldest son of Andrew J. and Mary Jane Reed, was born in Keithsburg, June 27, 1857, and died at his home in Eliza township Monday afternoon, November 3, 1919, at 3:50 o'clock, aged 62 years, 4 months and 7 days. Nearly all his life was lived in Mercer county. His father, mother and one sister preceded him in death by several years. He was in as good health as he had been during the past year, hence his death came as a great shock to the community. "Mose" was of a kind and gentle disposition and was liked by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his death two brothers and two sisters, namely: James A., of New Boston; Fred J., of Eliza; Mrs. Jennie Beverlin of Davenport; and Mrs. Kate Saunders of New Boston. He also leaves many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Union Chapel Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 5, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. Diffenbaugh.
