2nd wife was Mildred Juanita Mouras, married on Aug. 1, 1950 ~ Mildred was 22 Wilton was 27
3rd wife was Elsie Elaine Johnson, married on Sep. 1, 1953 ~ Elsie was 18 and Wilton was 30
Wilton had 2 children by wife Elsie Elaine Johnson. Son: Ervin Laurice Bennett, and a Daughter: Jetta M. Bennett. Also had a daughter named after him even though he was not her real father. Lavelle Elaine Bennett (now deceased). Lavelle's father was only known as Kadio, who was also in the Navy. Two years later Elaine had another daughter and was given the last name of Bennett too, even though her father was James Richard Beezley whom Elaine later married. Wilton had to pay child support for all 4 children even knowing the last 2 was not his own. They had been separated for a couple years before their divorce was finalized June 20, 1961.
Wilton was a Chief Signalman in the Navy.
He sold his house and all of his belongings and went to the Philippines where he had happy memories from when he was in the service. But he passed away by a heart attack in his hotel room only 1 month after he arrived there. He had 2 previous heart attacks in Texas.
