Son of the late William Henry and Elizabeth (née O'Mullins) Hearn; husband of 66 years of Mary Jeanette (née Britten); father of Cara Sampson (Richard) of Pondville, Barbara Gibson (Gary) of St. Peters; Ronald (Darlean), Robert, Gerard, all of D'Escousse, Roderick (Wanda) of Poirierville; grandfather of 13 grandchildren; great-grandfather of 9 great-grandchildren; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Norman was predeceased by two children in infancy, Ronald and Lorraine; five brothers: John, Peter, Bert, Neil and Carl; five sisters: Mary, Ellen, Beatrice, Ethel, Sarah; and three sisters in childhood: Lottie Mildred, Bridget and Eva.

Liturgy of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, 24 April 2010 in St. Hyacinth Church, D'Escousse, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial followed in St. Hyacinth Parish Cemetery in D'Escousse.
