Arno Leroy “Duke” Ketterman, Sr., age 73, of 617 Getz Mountain Road, Petersburg, WV died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 8, 1943 in Dumpling Run, Hardy County, WV and was a son of the late John Adam Ketterman and Bessie Leigh (Parker) Ketterman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren, Brylei Ketterman and David Allan Sions; five brothers, Stanley Ketterman, Charles Ketterman, Harold “Bob” Ketterman, Ralph Ketterman and John David Ketterman; three sisters, Violet Whetzel, Margaret Miller and Edith See.

Mr. Ketterman was a lifelong farmer and worked for Evans Poultry in Petersburg and Sions Equipment in Moorefield, WV

Mr. Ketterman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn (Cullers) Ketterman, three sons, Bobbie L. (Lisa) Ketterman of Petersburg, WV; Brock A. (Heather) Ketterman of Petersburg, WV and Arno L. (Amy) Ketterman, Jr. of Purgitsville, WV; three daughters, Debbie (Ronnie) Crites of Moorefield, WV, Melissa (Sheldon) Sions of Fisher, WV and Teresa Shirk of Maysville, WV; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon “Buck” (Georgianna) Ketterman of Moorefield, WV and Roy (Charlotte) Ketterman of Fisher, WV; and three sisters, Ruth Ours of Scherr, WV, Linda (Gene) Ours of Petersburg, WV, Janet Bible of Arthur, WV; two sister-in-law, Dottie Ketterman and Charlotte Ketterman; and brother-in-law, Brooks Martin and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Thorne officiating. Interment will be in the Sites Cemetery, Elkhorn Road, Dorcas, WV.
