John Rudolph Brinkman, 81, a retired farmer, died Tuesday evening at a local hospital. Funeral services will be Friday at 2pm at the Sixth Avenue Christian Church.
Mr Brinkman was born July 1, 1874, at Preston, Iowa. He came to Chinook in March 1915 from Canistota, SD, and had farmed in this vicinity until his retirement.
In July 1901, at Canistota he married Alvina Rosson, who survives him.
He is also survived by four sons, Chris of Havre, John R Jr, of Big Sandy, Henry of Fort Benton and Wayne of East Glacier; one daughter, Mrs Henry Bugden, Havre; two sisters, Mrs Anna McGinnis of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mrs Minnie Root of Los Angeles, CA.; four brothers, Henry of Danzig, ND, Fred of Chinook, Herman of Beaver, OK, and Emil of Portland, OR, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A daughter, Dorothy, preceded him in death.
