Obituary for Merle Scott Pendergrass

Merle Scott Pendergrass, 93, of Fort Payne, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born in DeKalb County on November 8, 1923 to the late Jasper Lee and Mary Etta Culver Scott. She was retired from V.I. Prewett and Son Hosiery. She was a member of Mt. View Primitive Church and a Red Cross volunteer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26th at Wilson Funeral Home with Elder Greg Phillips and Elder Jim McGill officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Treasurer, 108 Hickory Lane, Rainsville, AL 35986.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Shelia Pendergrass, grandchildren, Lonny Pendergrass and Kevin Pendergrass; and great-grandchildren, Dalton, Caroline, Hollis, and Eleanor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Pendergrass in 1992 and her brother, Vernon Scott in 1994.
