John Oneal Calliham passed away of natural causes on Oct. 27, at 96 years of age. Ruth Calliham passed away of natural causes on Oct. 31, at 91 years of age. They were married a month shy of 77 years.

They are survived by their two daughters, Judith Ann (Marc) and Nancy (Joe); seven grandchildren, Kari, Tami, Kimberly, John, Michael, Gretchen and Sherri; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great grand-children; John's nephew, Ted (Pat), and Ruth's sister-in-law, Joyce.

They are preceded in death by John's siblings, Clifford and Lorene, and Ruth's siblings, Clara, Cecil, Frank, and William.

John was born Oct. 22, 1919 in Sardis, OK. Ruth was born Jan. 30, 1924 in Bennington, OK. They met as teenagers and it was love at first sight. They were married in Oklahoma, Dec. 3, 1938. They welcomed their first daughter Judy in 1939 and continued to follow John around the country when he served in the Air Force during the war. In 1950, they welcomed their second daughter, Nancy in Vallejo, where they raised their family and spent the rest of their days.

John obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering and designed many engineering feats within the mining industry. Ruth was the ultimate homemaker. They delighted in music of all kinds, church activities, and most of all family gatherings, where we laughed until we cried, and no one went away hungry.

They were never without one another and now are together again, leaving us a true legacy of love.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Skyview Funeral Chapel, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo.

Services will be held at American Canyon Community Church, 2 Andrew Road, Thursday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m.

Arrangements under the direction and care of Skyview Memorial Lawn.
