GALESBURG -- Anne Laurane Ritenhouse, 88, formerly of 643 S. West St., died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 1995, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Born June 17, 1906, in Chicago to Hugh and Joanna Walsh Connell, she married Neil Ritenhouse on May 30, 1934, in Chicago. He died June 5, 1983. Three sisters and one brother also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Peoria and John of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Anne Taylor of Galesburg and Mary Margaret Horton of Navarre, Fla.; one brother, Hugh Connell, and one sister, Sister Alice Connell, both of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a legal secretary for her husband.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Galesburg and its Altar and Rosary Society, of which she was past president. She was a member and past president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. The Rev. Bruce King will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Watson Funeral Home in Galesburg, with recitation of the rosary at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or Knox County Nursing Home.
