PEORIA - Robert H. Ritenhouse, 60, of 3211 N. Avalon died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his residence.

Born July 12, 1941, in Galesburg to John Neil and Anne L. Connell Ritenhouse, he married Catriona McNeill on Aug. 6, 1977, in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Damon and Owen, both of Peoria; one brother, Jack (and Serena) of Reno, Nev.; and two sisters, Mary Horton of Navarre, Fla., and Anne (and Larry) Taylor of Galesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A veteran, he served in the Army and the Navy, retiring as a sergeant in the Army Reserves. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 in Galesburg.
He was a special education teacher for Peoria County, retiring in August 2001.
He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Vien Van Do will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes before services at the church. He donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association in Chicago and burial of ashes will be in Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the St. Philomena School Endowment Fund.
