Mr. Bill Anderson, 78, went to be with Jesus and was reunited with his wife, Edna, on Friday, April 21, 2017.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 3 PM in the West Vanceboro Church of God, officiated by Reverends Brent Manning and Robert Worthington. Burial will follow in Haw Branch Church Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson, a native of Craven County, lived all of his life in the Vanceboro community. He worked as a mechanic and welder for all of his life, retiring only due to declining health. He was a member of West Vanceboro Church of God, where he served as an usher. Mr. Anderson loved gardening and sharing his produce with neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stonewall and Lula Morris Anderson and his wife, Edna Williams Anderson.
He is survived by: a daughter, Billie Jo Smyer and husband, Eddie; a grandson, Jeremy Smyer; and a sister, Katherine Pinkos, all of Vanceboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at West Vanceboro Church of God.
