George F. Kline, 76, of Spring Garden Township, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Doris R. (Smith) Kline, and of the late Kathryn Kline.

The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery, with military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kline was born Sept. 9, 1922, in York. He was the son of the late Roy George and Beatrice Louella (Spangler) Kline.

He was a sales administrator at York International, retiring in 1986 after 45 years of service. He was a member of Hayshire United Church of Christ, Shiloh American Legion Post 791, AMVETS Post 2, Veterans of Vietnam War Pennsylvania Post 35, York County Joint Veterans Council, Veterans of Battle of the Bulge, Disabled American Veterans Post 28, Chapel of Four Chaplains, Military Order of Ardennes, Manor Social Club, German American Society, Borg Warner 25-Year Club, and of York-Adams Area Council of Boy Scouts of America for 40 years, receiving many awards. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 556, Military Order of the Purple Heart York County Chapter 390 and 94th Infantry Division. He was assistant district commissioner for the York Imperial District of BSA, and was previously district commissioner and roundtable commissioner of the district. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart.

Mr. Kline also is survived by a son, Gregory Kline of York; a daughter, Susan Smith of York; two stepsons, Ronald Smith of Wrightsville and Scott Dellinger of Stanhope, N.J.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Roy Kline of Hanover.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John E. Lehr, assistant pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to York-Adams Council of Boy Scouts of America, 2139 White St., York 17404; or to York County Chapter 390, Order of the Purple Heart, 333 Eberts Lane, York 17403.
