After a 65 year loving marriage, Roy Kline, Jr., 86, along with his wife, Lorraine G. (Lawrence) Kline, 85, of Hanover, PA entered into God's eternal care on Sunday, January 19th, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. Roy, born on August 22nd, 1927 in Hanover, PA, was the son of the late Roy Sr. and Beatrice (Spangler) Kline. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover. After graduating from Eichelberger Senior High School in 1943, he entered into the U.S. Navy and proudly served in World War II. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a machinist for the Hanover Wire Cloth. His interest in insurance grew and became an agent but quickly became a manager for the Washington National Insurance Company for the next 30 years. He also served as a motivational speaker. Being actively engaged in his career, he coordinated many sales conferences and held offices with the Life Underwriters Association. After his retirement from Washington National Insurance Company he worked for Lawrence Subaru for the next 29 years completing several tasks.
Roy and Lorraine are survived by two children; Jeffery R. Kline and wife, Diane E. of Hanover, PA and Debra A. Kline-Smith and husband, Michael R. Smith of Lititz, PA, two grandchildren; Kirsten R. Wentz and husband, Gregory S., Justin R. Kline and wife, Courtney R., one grand cat; Chardonnay and one grand dog; Moji.Roy was preceded in death by one brother; George Kline, and sister; Josephine Kline.
A celebration and remembrance of their lives can be shared with the family at a viewing held at Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc. 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014. On Friday, January 24th, 2014 a second viewing will be held at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a funeral services starting at 11 AM. Msgr. James E. Lyons and Rev. Bruce P. Bouchard will officiate. Roy and Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Marburg Memorial Gardens.
