Adell Rice Walker, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Hospice Home of Alamance Co.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00PM Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Caswell Co., she was a daughter of the late Albert and Nannie Ware Rice and had lived in the Cherry Grove Community most of her life. She and her late husband; Lloyd Walker operated the L. W. Walker’s Grocery on the Pagetown Rd. for many years and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Walker was a member of Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, a former choir member, attended the senior groups in the church and was very active as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and brothers: Loftin, James, Owen, Wilbert, & Johnny.
Surviving is her son; Garland W. Walker and wife; Norma of Elon, grandchildren; Sherri Walker & Kristi Gibson and husband; John, great grandchildren; Jacob Gregory, Jenna Gregory, Kayla Gibson, & Brianna Gibson.
The family will see friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Burton Memorial Baptist Church from 3:00 till 4:00 Pm prior to the service and at other times they will be at the home of her son; Garland W. Walker 59 Pagetown Rd. Elon, NC 27244.
