Connie Short McDonald, 81, passed away on April 17, 2017. She was born in Napoleon, North Dakota to Don and Edith Short, and Connie was raised on a ranch north of Medora, North Dakota. After graduating from Beach High School in 1952, Connie earned a degree in Education from the University of North Dakota. She then moved to Atwater, California where she taught middle school. It was there that she met and married Paul, her husband of 58 years. In life she enjoyed stories of life on the ranch, writing poetry, the Trailwood Garden Club, being a military wife and her grandchildren. In death she was preceded by her parents, Don and Edith Short; sister, Anne Short Johnson; brother, Con 'Buzz' Short; and sister-in-law, Barbara McDonald Swain. Connie was survived by her husband, Paul McDonald; sons, Jeff McDonald, Pat McDonald and wife Karen; daughter, Kari Brunswick and husband Doug; grandchildren, Samantha, Krista, Laurel, Kali, Will, Ben and Max; as well as her sister, Susan and husband Dan Dinkle; and sister-in-law, Sandra Short. A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, April 22 from 2-4PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, Texas.
