Harold Max Jones, 46, Route 2 Frankfort, died at 3 p.m. on Tuesday March 28 at Cold Springs Road Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, after a lingering illness.

He was born March 5, 1926 in Frankfort, the son of Harold M. and Ora Alice Wessell Jones.

Mr. Jones was a master sergeant in the Army for 23 years. He lived all of his life except for his service years in Frankfort. He was also a retired chef at the Moose Lodge and Williamsburg Inn.

Mr. Jones was a member of American Legion Post 12, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge No 7.

Survivors include his paternal grandmother, Lottie Jones of Frankfort; maternal grandfather, George A. Wessell of Frankfort; two sons, Jerry L. of Frankfort and Richard M. of Mulberry; a sister, Donna Sallee of Frankfort; and two grandsons, Jerry and Jeffery Jones. His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Eller Chapel and burial was in Bunnell Cemetery.
