Rewald W. Schubert, age 75, passed away on September 15, in Milwaukee.

A native of Kiel, he was born April 30, 1896, to the late Fred and Emma Harbrecht Schubert.

His World War I record dates back to May 1, 1917, during which time he received numerous medals and citations for bravery, including one from his division commander, and one signed personally by General John J. Pershing, and the Silver Star, the latter being bestowed on him in July 1943, twenty-five years later. He served in the 76th Field Artillery, having originally enlisted in the Cavalry, in the Third Division.
He retired in 1961, after thirty-five years with the Milwaukee Electric Company.

He was married in 1927 to Miss Eleanor Menne of Elkhart Lake, who survives him along with a daughter, Mrs. Norman Knetzger, and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Irma Paulsen and Mrs. E. R. Hayner of Kiel, and a brother, Raymond Schubert, of Sheboygan plus numerous nieces and nephews, also survive.

Burial took place on Saturday from the St. Mary Czestochowa Catholic Church in Milwaukee, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
