Sergeant Zachariah Booth was a prominent man in the Enfiled life of his day. His name occurs often in the town records in connectin with various offices of trust; when the first bank was organizwed he was one of the trustees; he was Constable in 1692, and Selectman several times. He was the third Town Clerk, serving from 1723-1729; was Sergeant of the train band, and Deputy in 1731 and 1732.

Elizabeth was the wife of Samuel Allen (1702-1771) and they married on 27 Jan 1728 in Enfield, Hartfor, CT. They had nine known children: Samuel, Elizabeth, Abel, Tabithy, Love, Peletiah, Zechariah, Sarah and Amasa "Amzi" Sr.

The family name is sometimes spelled Allyn - which has created confusion in records and documentation. Some of the children of Samuel and Elizabeth spell the name Allen. Will try to include links where possible with alternate spellings.

Son Abel Allen married Elizabeth Sophia Chapin in 1756 in Enfield, CT.

Daughter Tabithy married Abner Chapin in 1781. She died in 1790.

Son Zechariah born 1742, died in 1831.

Daughter Sarah, born 1746, married Jonah Pasco. Sarah died on 20 Apr 1825.

Son Amasa, born 1750 in East Windsor, Hartford, CT., married Alice Lord in 1780 in East Windsor, CT. He served in the Rev War and enlisted on 21 Apr 1777 in Col Parvin's Regt at Enfield. Amasa later transferred to Col Van Schaich's NY Regt. He served until April 1780. Amasa was honorably discharged and engaged in the battles of Princeton, Trenton, and Monmouth, CT.

Amasa and Alice eventually settled in Pavillon, Genesse County, New York. Amasa's name was aka Amizi in some records. He was the youngest child of Samuel and Elizabeth (Booth) Allen. Burial in Maplewood Cem in Genessee Co. NY.

Elizabeth's husband Samuel and his brother Joseph Allen engaged in the manufacture of tar and pitch, and also operated a farm in East Windsor, CT. His farm was later known as the "Landlord Allen Farm" and was situated on the old stage road from Springfield to Hartford, CT.
