Mr. Charles Linton Chatham, age 98 of Winston, GA passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home. He was born in old Milton County, Alpharetta, GA on September 19, 1918.
He loved his family, gardening and cutting his grass. He lived a long and healthy life until his recent short term illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Marcelle Gibson Chatham, his brother, Harold Chatham and his parents, Charles Linton Chatham, Sr. and Nettie Rogers Chatham.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Rodger Chatham of Douglasville and Ronald Gibson Chatham and wife Davilla of Florence, S.C., grandchildren, Ronald Scott (Heather) Chatham of Hope Mills, N.C., Daniel (Amanda) Chatham of Douglasville, Lori (Ken) Cribb of Bluffton, S.C., Mitzi (Trent) Clary of Florence, S.C. amd Josh (Laura Leigh) Greene of Bishopville, S.C., and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Tremaine Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Rogers-Bell Family Cemetery in Duluth at 2:45 p.m. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
