DOROTHY ANN RASH

Dorothy Ann Rash, age 82, of Shelbina, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Shelbina Villa Lifecare in Shelbina, Missouri.

Dorothy was born on March 6, 1935, in Monroe County, Missouri, the daughter of Dallas Gilbert Farrell and Anna Leola Caldwell. She was united in marriage to Earl Thomas Rash in Shelbina, Missouri, on March 8, 1962. He survives.

She is survived by her two children, Janet Kay Burgett and husband Don of Chariton, Iowa, and Edie Ann Christine and husband Rob of Bethel, Missouri; three granddaughters, Katie Holzworth and husband Victor, Amanda Peeper and boyfriend Pat Lusmann, and Sara Christine; one great granddaughter, Grayson Holzworth; one brother, Gilbert Farrell and wife Karen of Shelbina, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Bernice Bowling, Lois Smithey, and infant Linda Sue Farrell; two nieces, Denise Mefford and Joy Bowling; and one nephew, Richard Lynn Smithey.

Dorothy was a member of the Shelbina Christian Church. She worked as a school cook for years and also ran a catering business with her sisters and sister-in-law. Dorothy volunteered as a 4-H leader for several years. She liked to garden, raise chickens, and play cards and BINGO. Most of all, Dorothy cherished her family, especially her granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 10am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service and be held in the Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, Missouri. Memorials can be made to the Crooked Creek Cemetery or the Shelbina Christian Church.
