Willis Watson, 85, of Pampa, passed away April 2, 2017 in Pampa.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Wendell Knutson, retired Baptist minister, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Watson was born March 2, 1932 in Miami, and was a 1950 graduate of Miami High School. He married Wanda Jo Scott on November 10, 1957 in Pampa. She preceded him on December 10, 2015. Willis was a cowboy for the I. V. Ranch in Hemphill County for many years. He worked as a natural gas and compression engine mechanic for Oil & Gas Supply out of Houston, retiring in 1996. After his retirement, he finally got to enjoy his passion of ranching and raising cattle. Willis was a Little League coach for many years at Pampa Optimist Youth Club.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his caregivers, Sylvia, Felicia, Kasie and Cassandra for their loving care.

Survivors include two sons, Drew Watson and wife Stacy of White Deer, and Trent Watson and wife Missy of Pampa; two brothers, Don Watson of Pampa, and Bill Watson of Hereford; three grandsons, Jeffery Rogers of Amarillo, and Colton Sweatt and Trenton Watson, both of Pampa; three granddaughters, Cassie Jackson and Shelbie Watson, both of Amarillo, and Kelsey Smith of Valley Center, Kansas; and a great granddaughter, Audrey Smith of Valley Center, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
