Obituary for Clyde Benjamin Kelley
Services for Mr. Clyde Benjamin Kelley, age 87 of Hideaway, are scheduled 2:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
Clyde Benjamin Kelley was the youngest of 8 children born April 19, 1929 in Weatherford, Texas to parents Annie (Harris) Kelley and Robert T. Kelley. He died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Hideaway where he was a resident of for the last 43 years. Clyde was retired from La Gloria Oil and Gas where he worked for 32 years. He was a faithful follower of Christ and a life-long Methodist. Weatherford High School, Texas Class of 1947. He was a member of the National Guard. Clyde had a talent for mentoring young men as a Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years of Troop 358 sponsored by Asbury UMC, Past Master of Masonic Lodge 848 Lindale, Texas, past District Deputy Grand Master for Texas Masonic District 16, Past Patron of Lindale OES and a member of Bullard OES. He and his wife, Pattie, square and round danced for over 25 years making many long-time friends. Clyde was a devoted husband and father who always put God and family first in his life. He was married to his sweetheart, Natalie (Pattie) Meador Kelley for 66 years and was the father of 4 children. Clyde was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Renee Kelley, his mother and father, three sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife Natalie (Pattie) Meador Kelley; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Les Griffin,; daughter Belinda (Kelley) Kromer; and son, Clyde Benjamin Kelley Jr.; four grandchildren: Annie Griffin Boerm and Eric Boerm, Matthew Benjamin Griffin and Katrina Thompson, Charles Patrick Kromer, and Ty Benjamin Kelley; two great grandchildren: Clyde James Griffin and Astrid Natalie Boerm and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Griffin, Charlie Kromer, Ty Kelley, Eric Boerm, Dane Krohn, Tommy Benson, Les Griffin, Frank Turner. Honorary pallbearers are his Beloved Cronies, Bill Copeland, Eugene McClenny, and Ross Hall; Masonic Lodge 848, and Retirees of La Gloria Oil and Gas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home.
The family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 411 University Blvd. Tyler, Texas 75701, David Powell Food Pantry Lindale, Texas, and Boy Scout Troop 351 Lindale, Texas.
