Strohmeier, Elizabeth Jane Abell,

was born at Casey Creek, KY November 13, 1929 and died at Atria Springdale March 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Abell, her husband, Fred W. Strohmeier, Jr. whom she married July 14, 1979 at Clementsville, KY, and her brothers Joseph Abell, Jr. James Abell, and Robert Marshall Abell. She is survived by her sister Alene Abell Wolford, brother Alan Thomas Abell (Ann), and sisters-in-law Minnie Lea Abell and Mary Abell, as well as her husband's children, Rick (Mary Ann), Jim, Tom (Mimi), Nancy Swanson (Chip), Ruth Rock (Randy), nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. Elizabeth Jane graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, returned home and taught school, and then moved to Louisville where she was a teacher and guidance counselor for many years before retiring back to Casey Creek.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday March 31, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the church until time of service.
