Beatrice “Sug” (McClaran) Lloyd, 92 of Mexia passed away July 23, 2020 at Skilled Care of Mexia. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Lost Prairie Cemetery near Lake Limestone with David Bates officiating by Corley-Porter Funeral Home Mexia.

Sug was born to Thomas J. McClaran and Myrtie (Pittman) McClaran. She was the youngest of fifteen children.

She was born and raised in Personville, TX and graduated from Fair Oaks School.

While living in Personville she met and fell in love with James Monroe Lloyd, Sr., also from Personville. He was the light of her life. This marriage brought forth four children, James Monroe Lloyd, Jr., Ricky Don Lloyd, Martha Lloyd Bishop and Thomas Warren Lloyd.

She lost James, Sr. in a tragic automobile accident in October 1964. She was left to raise four children alone. Although she loved him dearly, the loss would change her life forever.

She was a homemaker and spent her life raising her children. She was a great cook, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. The family will hold our memories close to our hearts forever.

Sug lived life to the fullest, never passing the opportunity to go anywhere. She enjoyed baseball games, bingo and the boats in Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son Ricky Lloyd and all her siblings.

She is survived by her devoted family; son, James Lloyd, Jr. and wife Trisha, daughter, Martha Bishop and husband James “Skip” Bishop, II, son, Tommy Lloyd and wife Susan, daughter-in-law, Becky Lloyd, grandchildren; James Bishop III and wife Xilene, Carolyn Phipps and husband Jay, Rickie Janelle Lloyd, James Robison and wife Mandy, Traci Hughes and husband Judd, Jessica Silva and husband Johnny, Trent Lloyd and wife Sarah, Jace Lloyd and wife Kelsey, Cameron Sciba, Markie Baker, Joey Alford and their children; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Connor Bishop, Brice Brewer, Kamryn and Brayden Robison, Caden and Hagen Hughes, Reyna, Haylie and Addyson Silva, Layton and Lyle Lloyd; children by heart, Cliff Beldin and children and Cheri Beldin and daughter Jenny; sister-in-laws, Faye McClaran, Doris Martin, Mamie Dabney, Martha Willis and Carolyn Beldin Riley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
