James Priddy was a Pvt. Co B, 7th Regiment WV Infantry.
Mustered in Feb. 22, 1865 with brother, Matthew and discharged July 1, 1865. He died shortly after discharged on Aug. 3, 1865. A Civil War medal was issued to James from the State of WV. This medal was received by his great great grandnephew in 1992.

James was the son of Thomas Priddy and Permelia Miranda Higginbotham.

To reach the Priddy Cemetery it is about 2 mile Northeast of Extra, WV on Spring Branch Road, Putnam County Road 34/8. Stop at the 2nd house on the right beyond the intersection of Sulug Branch, Putnam County Road 5/5 to get permission to cross that property. There is a walking only trail starting on the right side of that house and goes up a very steep hill behind the house for about 150-200 yards and the cemetery is on the left side of the trail, cannot be seen from road.
