Carrie E. Crushong, of Gettysburg, entered into God's eternal care January 26.

Born in Mount Joy Township, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Sadie Herring.

Carrie worked for Sylvania Shoe in McSherrystown as an inspector for ten years until her retirement in 1977. Prior to that, she worked as a dairy farmer for many years with her husband.

In her free time, she was a birdwatcher who loved to tend to her flower garden. Carrie always looked forward to spending time with her family and especially going out to eat with friends and relatives.

Crushong, both of Gettysburg; five grandchildren, Dennis and Jeff Crushong and JoAnn Savard all of Spring Grove, Mary Sue Stewart of Fairfield, and Wanda Dietrich of Aspers; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
