Mr. Lawson Augustus Herring, 77, of Rt. 1, Emmitsburg, died early Tuesday, April 3, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Mort, Sr., at RT 2., Fairfield. Born in Liberty Township, Adams County, PA., he was the son of the late Grant A. and Sadie Herring. he was a member of the Elias Evangelical Lutheran church in Emmitsburg and Eagles in Gettysburg, PA.

Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Elsie Sheeley Herring and his daughter, Mrs. Mort, are one son, Lloyd Herrring, Hanover, Pa., nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, four sisters, two brothers, Mrs. Grace Cool, Ortanna, PA., Mrs. Goldie Comstock, Mrs. Carrie Crushong, Mrs. Ruth Miller, Earl Herring, all of Gettysburg, and John Herring, New Oxford, PA.

Friends may call at the Wilson Funeral home, in Emmitsburg on Wednesday, April 4. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, April 5, at 2 p.m. by his Pastor, the Rev. W. Ronald Fearer. Internment will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
