John H. Blair, 80 yrs., 5 mos. & 10 days of age, was a son of David M. Blair and Susan Cribbs. He was married and an invalid. He passed away in Elk Township, Clarion Co., from valvular heart disease and arteriosclerosis. Burial in Shippenville on Sept. 28, 1950. Informant was his wife, Mrs. John Blair.

Funeral services for John H. Blair of RD 2, Knox, who died Monday, September 25, after an illness of almost a year, were held from his home near Shippenville on September 28. He was born near Shippenville, April 16, 1870. Rev. J. R. Bartlebaugh, pastor of the Free Methodist church of Shippenville, officiated. Mrs. Flo Slaugenhaupt and Mrs. Vera Updegraft sang “Going Down the Valley” and “Its Morning Up There.” Surviving are his wife, Minnie, three children, George of RD 1, Knox; Andrew, Knox; and Mrs. Margaret Hartzell, Shippenville; also, fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and the following brothers; William and David of RD 2, Knox; Jake, Salem and Harry, Clarion. Arrangements were by Joe MacMillen funeral home in Shippenville. Pallbearers were Ernest, Charles and John Blair, Leroy Bish, John Botts and John Lichtenberger.
