Thomas D. Drexler was born in Erie to Martha & Carl Drexler. He dropped out of school in 1944 to enlist in the Navy during WWII. Once he completed his Naval service, he finished his GED and attended college at Case Western in Cleveland, OH. After his marriage in 1952, Tom moved to the Pittsburgh area and finished his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics, respectively, at the University of Pittsburgh.
Tom was a research consultant for U.S. Steel Corp., Monroeville, PA and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, PA.
Tom was president of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America, founding president of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Western Pennsylvania and a member of West Highland White Terrier Club of England, the American Working Terrier Association and the Western Pennsylvania Kennel Association.
