Helen K. Bathemess
Jan. 6, 1912 -- July 11, 1998

Helen K. Bathemess passed away Saturday evening in the presence of all her loving family.

Mom was born in Sparta, Greece, and migrated to the U.S. with her sister, Bella (Herman Gygi) and parents, George and Evgenia Katsis. Two other sisters, Kay (Gus Floor), and Penny (Phil McGrath) were born in the U.S.

Mom was married to Andrew Bathemess in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were both very active in the Greek community and were loved by many.

She left behind three children: sons, Frank, Pete (LeiAnn); daughter, JoAnn Pullos; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, and son-in-law, Jim Pullos.

Mom was a talented seamstress and will be remembered for her many beautiful creations She loved her flowers, the Utah Jazz, and feeding her wild birds and ducks.

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at 2 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, July 14, 1998, 6-7:30 p.m. with a prayer service to follow at the Desert Memorial Mortuary, 36 East 700 South. Internment, will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Funeral director, Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
