Velma Scoggins Dixon, 77, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Midland. Funeral services March 13, 2017,at Second Baptist Church in Midland.
Velma was born on June 28, 1939, to Ben and Ineeta Scoggins in Midland, TX. She was a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a terrific mother, and an amazing granny. She loved people of all ages. Her hobbies included: reading, going to BINGO, Friday night cards, Sunday afternoon lunches, and her greatest joy was playing with her grandkids. She faithfully attended Second Baptist Church for over 30 years and enjoyed working in the nursery both as the Director and a volunteer worker.
She was survived by her daughter, her son, and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Dixon, her mother, Ineeta Scoggins, and her father Ben Scoggins. Although she will be missed, Velma has made a joyful reunion with her beloved husband of over 40 years.
