Arnold Lee Dixon, of San Antonio, formerly of Midland, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004.
He was born May 3, 1933 to Millard and Myrtle Dixon in Mesa, Colorado and was raised and educated there. Arnold served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, from 1954 until 1974. On July 31, 1964 he married Velma Scoggins. Prior to his retirement he had been a machinist with Leamco Bearings and a tool room foreman at Poly Bearing Inc. Arnold was an usher and deacon at Second Baptist Church in Midland and a member for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Dixon.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Velma Dixon; son, Michael Dixon and his wife, Kodi; daughter, Laura Hall and her husband, Bill; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Louise Dixon; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Carl Colunga; grandsons, Conner Dixon and Eric Cloyd.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Second Baptist Church with Reverend H.W. Erwin, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Leon Blaschke, James Cooper, Ronnie Hodges, Charles Morris, Bill Oaks and Roy Thomas. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the Second Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3125 Travis, Midland, Texas 79701.
