Mrs. Gwendolyn Story Chambliss of Marion County, GA, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Americus, GA with the visitation to follow. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Chambliss was born the daughter of the late Mark Hollis Story and Florence Hollomon Story on December 26, 1930. She retired from Wachovia as a Banking Operator and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Americus, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Chambliss, her brother, Wilmoth Hollis Story, and her brother and Medal of Honor Recipient, Luther Herschel Story.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 125 S Jackson St. Americus, GA or to the League of the Good Samaritan.
