Robert W. "Bob" Sessler, 91, of Wilton, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Wilton Retirement Community in Wilton.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Iowa City Hospice in his memory.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 9, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wilton. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton, Iowa.

Robert William Sessler was born December 20, 1925, in Cedar County, the son of John and Caroline "Lena" (Grunder) Sessler. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1944. He married Eloise E. Davison on January 8, 1950 in Wilton. He farmed in Cedar County his entire life. He was also employed at JM Manufacturing in Wilton for 18 years, until retiring in 1991. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on many committees. He enjoyed gardening, riding his bike, visiting shut-ins and woodworking. He also enjoyed proclaiming the Good News of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise of Wilton; one daughter, Lynn (Glen) Anderson of Whitewater, WI; one son, Lee (Jane) Sessler of Wilton; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dean Sessler, one sister, Clara Theis, and six brothers, Herbert, Harold, Alvin, Alfred, Arthur and his twin brother, Richard Sessler.
