Margaret Savage Floyd, age 94 of Lawrenceville, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2017.
She was preceded in death in 1985 by her husband of 36 ½ years, George Dayton Floyd. She was also preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Hubert, Jack, Joe, Paul, Roy and Grady, and 2 sisters, Martha and Dorothy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, daughter, two grandsons, two granddaughters, sister, two brothers, sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Floyd was born in Dacula, GA on August 25, 1922 to Lenora Mae Burel Savage and Elijah West Savage. She was a 1943 graduate of the old Bethesda High School. She worked for a number of years as an Operator/Supervisor with Southern Bell and cared for many children in her own home. She worked in food service at Decatur High School and two other elementary schools before starting the program at Shallowford Elementary School where she completed her work in this field after 18 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn since 1968.
The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Margaret Savage Floyd will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lilburn 285 Main St NW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
