Louchie Rees was an iron worker and was divorced, per his death certificate. The informant was his brother Clyde Gillium Gould of Beaumont (birth name Clyde Gillium Rees).

His name is shown as Louis Reese in error on his death certificate. The 1900 census of Edna, Jackson County, Texas, lists him as Elucius E. Rees, born July 1892. He is listed as Louchie E. Rees in the 1910 census of Liberty County, Texas, where he was staying with an uncle, and listed as Lucy, female, in error, a week later in Houston, where he was back with his mother, Jennie M. Wood Gould. His name is also shown as Louchie Rees on his brother Edgar's death certificate.

His WWI draft registration record in Waco, Texas, just shows his name as L. E. Rees. He was a machinst for American Elevator Company and was married at that time.
