Vivian Maurine Plowman, 95 of Jacksonville
Vivian Maurine Plowman, 95, of Heritage Healthcare in Jacksonville, and formerly of Winchester, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 3, 2012, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Winchester, the daughter of Lincoln and Bess Eileen Templin Blackburn. She married Leonard "Felix" Plowman on Dec. 16, 1937, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1995. Also preceding her was her son, Darrell K. Plowman (surviving wife, Charline Plowman of Jacksonville) in 2008; and her two brothers, Clement (wife, Dorothy) Blackburn and Richard (wife, Loretta Blackburn.
Vivian was a member of the First Christian Church in Winchester, and had been active in the various women's groups there. She was a 1935 graduate of Winchester High School. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and scrap booking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A niece; and a nephew also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be at Winchester City Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church in Winchester.
