Originally buried in the Brown Cemetery, Sullivan Co TN. His remains were moved May 26, 1942 to the Rooty Branch Cemetery, Sullivan Co TN, due to the TVA relocation for the South Holston Dam project. He was placed in Row 14 Grave 5. His brother, Carl Atwell is listed as the person approving the removal and relocation.
