AN ELEGANT WEDDING.

Marriage of William A. Richardson
and Miss Anna McFadon.

The Reception Last Evening.

[From Tuesday's Daily.]

The wedding of the Hon. William A. Richardson, and Miss Anna McFadon of this city, took place last evening at the residence of the bride's mother, on Main street, in the presence of a few intimate friends, the ceremony being performed by the late Rev. J. Vila Blake.

After the ceremony a bridal reception was held, which for brilliancy has probably never been excelled in Quincy. The spacious parlors and drawing-room elegantly prepared for the occasion, and the attendance was large and fashionable, many of the toilettes of the ladies were beautiful and note worthy.

Among the decorations was a novelty, a large floral umbrella beneath which the bride and groom stood during the ceremony. The presents were not displayed to the guests, but in number and intrinsic value were in keeping with the richness of the visible surroundings.

Those who called to pay their respects and tender their congratulations upon the event included prominent businessmen and their ladies, leaders in society, and professional and social friends of the contracting parties.

The groom is a member of the Illinois general assembly, an attorney of high standing at the Quincy bar, and a gentleman who has made warm personal friendships and an extensive acquaintance in the city and county.

The bride is a highly cultivated and accomplished young lady who has been a general favorite in the city, and who is fully deserving the good fortune of this appropriate union.

They will make their home in Springfield during the winter, for which city they took the early train this morning, and where Mr. Richardson will be in attendance on the sessions of the legislature.
