Lydia, the second daughter and third of four children of Jabez Whittlesey and Sarah Stoddard, was born on 10 September 1739 at Wethersfield, Connecticut Colony. Lydia married Solomon Gleason (alias Glezen), the son of Thomas and Priscilla (Miller) Gleason on 23 January 1759 at Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts. They had eight children:
1. Jason Gleason (b. 1760; d. 1829),
2. Solomon Gleason (b. 1761; d. 1786),
3. Sarah Gleason (b. 1763; d. 1841), m. 4 Dec 1783 at Stockbridge, MA, Isaac Jones (1756-1840)
4. Lydia Gleason (b. 1765),
5. Amasa Gleason (b. 1770; d. 1808), m. 20 Nov 1796 at Lenox, MA, Anna Booth (1774-1844)
6. Ezra Whittlesey Gleason (b. 1773; d. 1849), m. 4 Feb 1796, Wealtha Hawley (1779-1850)
7. Levi Gleason (b. 1775; d. 1843), m. 1 May 1809 at Lenox, MA, Susan Knight (1775-1814)
8. Mary Gleason (b. 1781).
Lydia (Whittlesey) Gleason died on 6 September 1810 in her 71st year at Lenox, and is buried in the Church on the Hill Cemetery at Lenox, Berkshire, Massachusetts.
