Jo was a secretary at City Motors for sixteen years before she retired. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and very dear friend who will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Lovie is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle who raised her, Lottie and Leo Fortenberry; sisters, Vernell Gillespie, Virginia Lamprecht, and Gladys Sheive; brothers, Richard Slaughter, Joseph Slaughter, Leo Slaughter, Cecil Fortenberry, Howard Fortenberry, Larry Fortenberry, and Lofton Fortenberry; grandson, Russell Haney.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, from 5-7 P.M. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. in the building of the Robison Street Church of Christ in Edna. Phillip Stuckey will be officiating. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.
