Born to Richard Erwin Ancell and Maude Estelle Powell Ancell in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was incredibly dedicated to his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Lavon Gillen Ancell, married May 11, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple, and his children. He was completely dedicated to his Savior and held many church positions, including two service missions, Ward and Stake Clerk, and was highly respected by all. He attended South High School, the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College, with a degree in drafting. He served his country in the Navy for 4 years. He worked for the Utah Road Commission, Kennecott Copper, and Delta Airlines, where he retired in 1993.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Lavon Gillen Ancell, his children, Kelly Anderson (Curtis), Delynda Corsetti (Robert), Scott Ancell, Kathryn Ancell, Lisa Martin (Greg), Diana Klotovich (Mike), 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and his sister Shirley Lou Ancell-Penrose (Russell). He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, "Dickie", Richard, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Little Cottonwood 8th Ward Stake Center, 6180 S. Glenoaks Drive, Murray, Utah, with a viewing from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to those who aided in his care. A special thanks to the staff and residents at the Lodge at Riverton and the tender way they took care of Dad and their mother.
