Mary was born July 11, 1905 to August and Marie (Johannsen) Fredrichsen of rural Big Stone City, SD. She attended country school in Big Stone township, high school in Big Stone City and church at the Tabor United Methodist in Big Stone City.

Mary died Wednesday, November 14, 1979 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Milbank. She had suffered a stroke in 1961 and had been a resident of the Whetstone Valley Nursing Home for the past 10 years.

Services were held at Tabor United Methodist Church in Big Stone City with Rev. E. Rudolph officiating.

Pallbearers were Aaron Smith, Jim Scherer, Lester Schultz, Leo Barnhardt, Martin Schultz and Duane Fredrichsen.
